This day shall remain etched in our minds for it is a sad one for all journalists worldwide said Janaale.

Shireen Abu Akleh for Al Jazeera Arabic was killed on Wednesday while covering Israeli army raids in the city of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank.

She was rushed to a hospital in Jenin in critical condition, where she was declared dead shortly after, at 7:15 am (4:15 GMT), according to the ministry and Al Jazeera journalists.

Stressing that Shireen Abu Akleh, is now a martyr, for she was killed in the service of her long-persecuted people, Palestinians the Somaliland journalists group said that the murder is a clear violation of freedom of expression.

“This is evidenced by the fact that she was directly targeted by a sniper since the bullets were fired from under her ear and did not reach the bulletproof vest he was wearing.
